Our Mission

The Brady Valcho Autism Foundation is dedicated to helping autistic children and adults achieve their fullest potential. We help families find resources in our community, such as recreational programs and therapeutic partners.

The BVA Foundation also provides free trainings to police, first responders and educators.

Our Approach

Each year we host the Holly Springs Autism Acceptance Day event at the Holly Springs Law Enforcement Center. At our event families have the opportunity to talk with experts in the field of neurodiversity and related services in our community - in the areas of schools, camps, sports & recreations, therapeutic providers, social groups and autism organizations.

We have created a fun day to help families celebrate their children in a safe outdoor event, where parents can exchange ideas and experiences and meet with our first responders, so that they can learn more about our children and create a trusting relationship.

Part of our mission was to create and distribute free autism tool kits to local police and fire departments. Although first responders are trained to handle extensive situations, these tool kits are designed specifically to assist those on the autism spectrum. The tool kits come equipped with fidget toys, sunglasses (for visual support) stress balls, and a communication board to help officers assist the non-verbal community. These kits are an additional tool the officers can use to better serve our special needs population.
